ISLAND ENGLISH TUTOR
WRITING WORKSHOPS!

Christian Home Learning Ministry is offering writing workshops. They are initially intended for homeschool students, but any people who simply want more inspiration or feedback on their writing are welcome to register and attend. They will be held at First Baptist Church (1650 Waddington Road in Nanaimo) in the Youth Room. Writing topics for each workshop will change from one meeting to the next, but will focus largely on short fiction for this semester, January-June, 2015.

REGISTRATION

GRADES 2 - 6
The Young Writers workshop is for students in grades 2 - 6.
$15 per student is the suggested honorarium per workshop.
Each workshop will cover a different type of short story:
Tall Tale, Fable, Allegory, Fairy Tale and general Story.

Parents are invited and welcome to stay with their children for this workshop.
DATES:
Workshop 1 - Tuesday, March 31:

10:0-11:30 am for grades 2-6
Workshop 2 - Thursday, April 16:
10:0-11:30 am for grades 2-6
Workshop 3- Tuesday, May 12:
10:00-11:30 am for grades 2-6

GRADES 7+
The Advanced Writers  workshop is for students in grades 7 and up.
$15 per student is the suggested honorarium per workshop.
Each workshop will cover a different aspect of short fiction:
Perspective, Plot, Characterization, Setting and Theme. 
Parents may stay with their children for this workshop.

1:30-3:00 pm for grades 7+
Workshop 2 - Thursday, April 16:
1:30-3:00 pm for grades 7+
Workshop 3 - Tuesday, May 12:
1:30-3:00 pm for grades 7+
