Meet The Teacher

These workshops will be run by writer/teacher A. J. Mittendorf.

A. J.’s writing has been published in several magazines, including The Mennonite Brethren Herald, Healthy Family Magazine and Pen and Ink Magazine. Three of his short stories have been presented on The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean, and two of those are published in Stuart McLean’s 2013 book, Time Now for the Vinyl Café Story Exchange. In addition, A. J. has published one collection of poetry, From Both Sides of Creation (2014), and will have another collection, Carnival of the Animals, published this summer!

As for teaching, A. J. has taught English for more that 25 years to students from grades 8, up to second-year university. He has also taught music to students in grades 3 through 8, and basic naked-eye astronomy observing to first-year university students. A. J. currently works in Nanaimo as The Island English Tutor, tutoring many homeshool or special-needs students.
